  • EATING ALL THAT JAZZ

    Posted by

Coming to Montréal for the Jazz Festival? If you’re like me, just thinking about it is enough to work up an appetite. Luckily, there’s a great place for fresh food and French ambiance, right in the thick of the action: Café du Nouveau Monde!

Located on busy St-Catherine’s Street, right in front of Place-des-Arts, this bistro-café is perfect for Jazz Festival goers with an appetite for quality. They serve all kinds of classic French specialties like duck confit and cheese fondue, but I personally fell in love with their homemade cannelloni. Enjoy your meal inside or from their patio.

Because if its prime location, this place can get very busy, even when it’s not festival season. Local arts patrons regularly stop here to eat before heading to the symphony, opera or other concerts taking place nearby. Reservations are therefore recommended.

The dress code is casual-chic, and you can expect to spend about $35 per person (before alcohol, taxes and tip).
