Presented in collaboration with Slowfood Montreal, this event takes place on the pier of the historic Old Port and will feature some 80 exhibitors offering a taste of Quebec gastronomy. Twenty dollars gets you 20 samples of fine cheeses, locally raised meat, wine, beer, cider, spirits, heirloom fruits and vegetables, sweet treats… I think I could eat twenty samples of the cheeses alone…

And for those who also enjoy food on the intellectual level, there will be conferences, workshops and culinary demonstrations by well-known Montréal chefs, like Jérôme Ferrer from Europea.

Here’s a tip for a lovely night out: For $50, on Saturday night, you can enjoy a spit-roast lamb dinner called méchoui. In addition to this amazing taste of Quebec tradition, you’ll also be in a prime spot to watch the final night of Montreal’s International Fireworks Competition (honouring the 25th anniversary of Cirque du Soleil).
