It’s not easy to be fabulous ALL the time. A gay needs a getaway now and again.
Yet to even choose the best way to rejuvenate oneself can be stressful; the market is loaded with possibilities. When it comes to spa options, sometimes we want to be in steamy sauna with half-naked hotties. But at other points we just want to be pampered without the “cruisy feel” of a gay-establishment.
If you need a break from a hard day (or a hard lay), have I got the place for you.
My insider recommendation is Espace Nomad. Located on the Plateau, Montréal’s hip neighbourhood, this spa is an organic oasis perfect for those who need pampering and consider themselves environmentally conscious.
“The difference is the organic welcome,” says Marie-Eve (co-founder of Espace Nomad). And in her sentiment, organic has a two-fold meaning: the environmental sense and the authentic, genuine sense.
The mandate of Espace Nomad is to keep it “green.”. This means that everything is organic – from the herbal tea to the massage oil, from the bamboo bath robes to the biodegradable cleaning products. And with each signature massage, a tree is planted in the Quebec Boreal forest. These folks care about the earth… which is nice. It means a bit of pampering, and the knowledge that you are supporting eco-business.
So go sustain your fabulousness, but do it in a sustainable fashion. It’s the new gay way.
