GAY RADIO: QUEERCORPS

Between television and magazines and that “interweb” thingy, there are many ways to get information about travel and LGBT communities. Media has never been such a smorgasbord of choice.

However, there is something special about radio (images of winter evenings curled up with hot tea).

QueerCorps is Montreal’s premiere English radio program for queer peoples. Gay-hearted Montrealers tune in to the darling John Custodio every Monday evening to get a dose of LGBT news, politics, music and interviews. John does a great job blending local events and politics with international content, including recent interviews with Justin Bond and coverage from the Copenhagen OutGames. But regardless of subject, the program always has some Montreal flair.

I fell in love with the “QueerCorps” experience and decided to get involved. After being a guest on QueerCorps back in May of this year (to talk about my role as the “Gay Face” of Montreal, as John so eloquently puts it), I was invited back as a permanent co-host.

As we begin to transfer into “podcast” format, one have my roles has been to ensure that programming is accessible to a wider audience. So, yes, we talk about Montreal, but rest assured that you won’t ever be left in the dark.
