  • 3 GIRL GETAWAY MUST-SEES

    Posted by

Food, shopping and hotel. Three hot must-sees during your girl getaway trip to Montreal!

    1) Point G

I don’t think I know one single woman who doesn’t rave about Point G’s sweet, delicious and utterly orgasmic French macarons. Run by chefs Thierry Andrieu and Julien Reignier, this chic pastry shop/ice cream parlour on Mt. Royal Street is an express ticket to ze G Spot. The Point G gets extra brownie points for their buttermilk waffles and macarons glacés, which are made with the best gelato in town.
    1266 Mt. Royal Ave. E.

    2) Shopping at Cours Mont-Royal
St. Catherine Street is to Montreal what Oxford Street is to London: our downtown commercial shopping strip. This is where you’ll find most of the huge international brand stores such as H&M, Zara, Adidas and Guess. Many different malls are grouped side by side, including the Cours Mont-Royal shopping complex, which is known for its designer brands, European fashions and exclusive boutiques for men and women.
If you’re looking for some original designer clothes, there are a lot of boutiques worth checking out in the Cours Mont-Royal, besides DKNY and Armani. Here’s a quick list of some of my faves: David Lesage (modern, conservative, yet a touch of audacity), Andy Thé Anh famous evening wear designer from Quebec), Kar’ma (feminine, edgy, boho-chic) and Sarah Pacini (brilliant mix of knits, fabrics in this distinctive collection from Belgium).
Bonus Points: You don’t even have to step outside. Peel Metro connects to Cours Mont-Royal through the underground. There is a very good selection at the food court.

    St. Paul Hotel
The St. Paul Hotel is one of Montreal’s hottest boutique hotels. No wonder so many celebrities choose to stay here when they’re in town. Located in a stunning heritage building in Old Montreal, this award-winning hotel offers chic, elegant suites that are beautifully decorated, incorporating luxurious materials such as silk, stone, and metal. The large windows provide a variety of distinctive views of the city, whether it’s the metropolitan skyline, the liveliness of the Old Port or stunning, timeless architecture.
Bonus Points: conveniently located steps away from Square Victoria metro.

    355 McGill
    Montreal, QC, H2Y 2E8
