Ladies, if you love vintage, Maskarad boutique is as close to heaven as you’ll ever get in this lifetime. For years, I have walked by this fashion gem without ever stopping in, just because I mistakenly associated the sign with a medieval costume store.

Or maybe it’s because 99% of the time I strolled past, I was coming back from Mount Royal’s famous Sunday drumming festival, the Tam Tams, and was still under the influence of those intense dungeon and dragon jousters…

One of the best things to do in Montreal during the months of September and October is apple picking. Yet getting to the closest orchard can be quite a challenge for tourist. If you tell me I have to rent a car, get a map, drive an hour, go up a mountain, turn left after the lights, which is after the stop sign, which is the 5th right after the gas station, chances are… I’m not going.

But what if I told you, that every Saturday until October 10, you can hop on a train that will take you straight from downtown Montreal to a bountiful orchard full of juicy apples, in under 45 minutes?

You heard me!

After two weeks of Facebook planning, the time had come for the Montreal Michael Jackson Flash Mob. I could finally rock my white tennis socks and sparkling silver jacket.

That alone got me pretty excited. But my enthusiasm went through the roof when I caught footage of a beautiful police officer breakdancing in uniform — yes, he’s a real cop! Amazing, isn’t he?

And wait, that’s not all. The pretty lady that everyone is filming is our Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities grooving with kids to the sounds of the King of Pop.

Hunting for Vintage Treasures in Mile End

Mile End is my hood, and my hood is where it’s at! The area is filled with little boutiques selling all kinds of goodies, from art, to interior decoration, second-hand clothing and local designers. And so, I went shopping!

As I was looking for unique vintage items (my favourite), I bumped into my friend Mike, who was walking home from the laundromat and he kindly offered to film me. (Shopping solo while filming yourself and talking alone does feel a bit weird, so I gladly accepted his offer.)

Last night I went to try a new training program at MAA, a downtown gym in Montréal. The program is called Jukari, and for some reason every time I tell my friends about it, they tell me What? Drew Carey? No. JU-KA-RI.

Created and developed in Montréal by Cirque du Soleil and Reebok, it makes use of a trapeze to tone your bod just in time for summer.
