Nestled right next to the Auberge du Vieux-Port overlooking De la Commune Street and the St. Lawrence River is Old Montréal’s newest eatery, Taverne Gaspar. Chef Mario Guerrera offers accessible and comfort cuisine inspired by British pubs with French and Quebecois accents. The house specialties include a trio of savoury tarts, scallops with pork belly and spatchcock Cornish hen, plus a “Daily Special” menu featuring traditional dishes. Local beer on tap, a wide selection of spirits and a raw bar to watch the shucker prepare oyster and seafood platters is part and parcel of this friendly, authentic tavern housed in a 19th century warehouse.
