Published on September 22, 2009 -- Volley Boréal, a Montréal volleyball club that’s run by and for the GLBT community, hetero friends and everyone in between invites volleyball players of all shapes and sizes to bump, set and spike to their heart’s content at their annual Big Jump tournament on Thanksgiving weekend.
More than 40 teams are expected to register for this favourite annual fall tourney, which provides an excellent workout to another workout the same weekend, the hugely popular and energetic Black and Blue Festival.
Whether you’re a player or spectator, Big Jump provides plenty of action on the court—and off, at post-tournament festivities—with many teams coming from the U.S. and across Canada (including as far away as the Big Van), to suit up and spike it out to victory. Of course, this being Montréal and this being a GLBT event, the fun definitely runs as strong as the competition.
If you’re idea of a good time is watching gorgeous sweaty men show off their physical prowess, this is one volleyball tournament you need to be in or see. From digs to blocks to back row attacks, the Big Jump serves it all up… with an absolutely smashing Montréal finish.
