June 20, 2011 – Would it really be a Montréal summer without the unbridled flamboyance and fun of the Divers/Cité festival? Hardly! This unique LGBT event, which lights up our streets, parks and performance halls with everything from electronic concerts to drag queen shows to outdoor movies, celebrates a spectacular 19th edition this year from July 25 to 31.

With a global following that just keeps growing, Divers/Cité plays host to the world’s LGBT community in the Quartier latin, right next door to the Village. Boasting three giant outdoor stages, Place Émilie-Gamelin is the focal point of these seven days of full-out festivities. It’s here and near where celebrations run the gamut from the hugely popular Grande Danse, an open-air dance floor on Berri Street, to Mascara, the gender-bending phenomenon inspired by pop culture, to Le Grand Bal, where happy masses are treated to a night-long line-up of electronic music, dance choreography and disco.

The goings-on indoors are no less spectacular, with contemporary dance performances, an opera night and other extravaganzas filling this spectacular cultural calendar with even more for your senses. It’s officially a date: bring all your friends and join us for the party!
