Friday, 8:20 a.m. Heading to downtown. The lay over in Toronto was good, was able to get outside for some pictures. I will upload thm later. Arrived last night at hostel o.k. So far I am having an interesting exprience. Montreal definitly has a "European" flavor, even in Toronto. Language is not an issue at all. I am acctualy on an island , I learned about the size of manhattan. Until I figure how to get off I'll send photos and updates.

sat. 12:45p. Went to biodome. walked back to town, taking some pictures. The city is bigger than I expected, so I am exercising my legs alot. Mount Royal is only abt. 700 ft. It is a great spot for some picture taking. The locals are very helpful and patient! ttys Brian 

Moving today to a new Hostel. It's closer to Dowtown, with more ammenities (possibly). It is a learning experience for sure. Meeting people from all over the globe. Listened to the radio yesterday for some local news. Appearently one must hold on to handrails on escalators. A woman got arrested for not doing so!

The weather changes very quickly. Rained all day yesterday. Today it's cold. Hoping to see more of the city.

went to Sorel-Tracy via bus, 16.00 round trip. its about an hour north, not much there but enjoyed the trip.

went to St. Joseph's Oratory as well. Interesting church. Built in a somewhat "Art Deco" style. was able to hook up w/ a tour. Appearently the heart of Fr.Andre (which is on display) was stolen as a "prank" many years ago and then returned a few weeks later!

 Was able to catch a "Tam-Tam" on Sun. aft. It is a summer "hippieesque"  ritual where peaple gather to dance and listen to drums, bongos, dijiridoos etc.

Tue. went to the botanical gardin and insectarium. Was next to the olypic villiage from '76? got some good pics as it was a nice day. most exhibits cost money so I opted for te botanic gardin. It was nice and with an arboritum.

tried to rest in afternoon, but got tossed out by the cleaning lady!
