Published on November 30, 2009 –We’ve all been there: scurrying about as we pick up all the necessary holiday odds and ends that make the season bright. But who picks you up? Shouldn’t you take a moment to breathe easy? And wouldn’t it be great if you could get a pick-me-up while picking up some gifts at the same time?

Like a fragrant beacon, the Kusmi Tea House on St. Denis Street will draw you like a moth to a flame, but in this case, a weary shopper to a haven of delicious solitude.

When one speaks of Kusmi Tea, words like delicate, flavourful, aromatic, elegant, superior, exclusive and invigorating flow as naturally as the steaming infusion from a spout. But when you get right down to it, Kusmi Tea is simply - and absolutely - delicious. And even better, it’s found a home right here in Montréal.

Originally founded in Russia and then established in Paris, the prestigious Kusmi Tea House has been developing their celebrated teas for 142 years, using only sophisticated blends of premium leaves, herbs, and spices. The Kusmi name is synonymous with finesse, taste and quality, thus the choice of Montréal for its first North American boutique was only natural.

So go ahead – take a moment for yourself and peruse the walls covered by Kusmi’s signature round, ornate tin containers while discovering new flavours and blends of tea - from classic black to numerous green and herbal teas- along the way. Sidle up to the tea bar and taste the daily sample special; or, if you prefer, try any of their 125 delectable infusions for a mere $1.75 per cup.

While its roots remain with classic Russian blends of black teas, aptly titled Anastasia (a divine orange blossom twist on Earl Grey), Prince Vladimir (a combo of citrus fruits, vanilla and spices), and Saint Petersburg (a blend of citrus fruits, red fruits and caramel) to name a few, Kusmi Tea also offers an immense variety of original green and herbal blends that invigorate all the senses.

And if this moment of bliss isn’t enough, you can strike a few names off your gift list thanks to the wide assortment of gift boxes and tea accessories available.  The coveted Kusmi shopping bag is a particular favourite.
