March 8, 2010 – Since the beginning of February, the sweet scent of divine chocolate has pervaded Sainte-Catherine East, between Panet and Plessis Streets. It’s as simple as following your nose to the Petite Marie La Chocolaterie du Village, Montréal’s newest chocoholic haven.
A love for chocolate and a love for the Village led Master Chocolatier and celebrity Chef Didier Girol to set up his new shop in the Village…and what a shop it is!
Maybe it’s a throwback to his childhood, where he roamed the Nestle chocolate factory floor as his father guarded the locale, maybe it’s the décor reminiscent of Alice’s trip through the Looking Glass, or maybe it’s the scrumptious surprises he lovingly creates for his customers, but one thing is for sure: Chef Girol brings out the child in all of us at La Petite Marie.
He deftly commands the duality of his medium, evoking playful, childish delight without undermining chocolate’s powerfully seductive qualities.
You’ll only taste the most exquisite of ingredients here; in particular, the world-famous Michel Cluizel chocolate of which Girol is the Québec ambassador. Healthy, natural and delectable, Michel Cluizel chocolate is made from only three ingredients: cocoa, sugar cane and pure Bourbon vanilla. Chef Girol’s sweet creations begin with only the best!
