Published on April 28, 2009 - Design that defines, film that feeds the mind, music that moves the body and art that inspires the soul. Our city lives and breathes artistic creation, especially during the Biennale de Montréal.
Open to interdisciplinary artistic forms, this cultural happening brings together artists from the worlds of visual arts, graphic design, video and film. The theme of this 6th Biennale edition, Open Culture, explores the relationship between creative expression and the artistic process, and turns the month of May into a hotbed of stimulating encounters.
For the occasion, the fertile cultural soils have been mined to bring us over a dozen projects from Québec, Canadian and international artists. The program features photography, videos, installations and digital creations, including interactive games that provide a showcase for people to express their creativity in an urban space: democratic art at its best!
Check out the mobile sculpture that broadcasts one-minute messages to the world (you leave them on an answering machine) in a public space or an interactive installation that projects your texts and images onto a giant screen. Unleash your artist while you have the chance, because it will be two years before the Biennale returns again.
