Galerie MX boasts great works of contemporary art combined with a great philosophy: to explore personal, social and aesthetic values, whether the artist’s or the observer’s, while opening up unlimited avenues of interpretation. The gallery features paintings, sculptures, photographs and design works from 20 permanent artists, including Besner, Case-Fox, Claes, Lavoie, Niko, Milo and Prud'homme.
One of Montréal’s grand halls of design, it features chic and soaring spaces, clean lines and light-filled rooms, sensor lighting and audiovisual projections, gracing the Quartier international with its avant-garde presence.
Art amateurs and connoisseurs alike are invited to take part in lectures and events and explore the contemporary art world through guided visits, given in either English or French.
Galerie MX is located a stone’s throw from La Joute, Riopelle’s magnficent sculpture. Visitors can soak up the serene beauty of the place which bears the artist’s name before entering the gallery and finding that piece of art they’ve always dreamed of.
