Published on July 13, 2009 - Whether you’re young, old or somewhere in between, La Ronde promises everyone excitement and thrills on land, in the air and in the water. And this year, Montréal’s famous amusement park has lots of new surprises for all ages and types of fun-seekers.
First up: La Ronde now offers Web users the chance to buy their tickets on-line at truly affordable prices, with a two-fold goal of beating the economic slump and eliminating wait lines at the ticket office.
What else? This summer features Y’EAU, a new nautical and acrobatic extravaganza, which will be staged four times a day in an amphitheatre whose decor was inspired by urban skyscrapers.
Of course, there will also be the International des feux Loto-Québec (Montrealers love fireworks!), which has been presented at La Ronde for the past 25 years. In celebration of their quarter-of-a-century anniversary, you can take advantage of the 25th-edition, $25-package, which includes access to the rides after 5 p.m. and reserved seating to watch the spectacular night-sky illuminations.
Following the evening fireworks, a DJ will concoct a live soundtrack to match the mind-blowing high dives and aerial tricks of Y’EAU’s superbly talented athletes.
Last, but not least, there will be the interactive labyrinth, The Mummy: Tomb of the Emperor Dragon, Live! Inspired by the blockbuster film itself, the new attraction is sure to set hearts racing as participants make their way through some 300 metres of thrilling encounters.
