Even when the mercury starts to dip, Montrealers’ fashion sense is never comprised—in fact, winter just gives us more reason to layer and love it. And with her chic line of fashion wear made from recycled fur, designer Mariouche Gagné has played a pivotal role in shaping Montréal’s luxe winter look today.

This innovative designer has moved old fur coats from the backs of closets to fashion front and centre by remastering them into trendy jackets, elegant stoles, cool shapkas, gorgeous gloves and lots of other stylish accessories.

While furs were initially used to launch a line of winter clothing, the collection has since expanded to include, among others, clothes for kids, accessories for the home and summer wear. So this winter, while you’re busy luxuriating in your new eco-friendly fur coat, you can start dreaming about the dress made of recycled silk you’ll want to snap up this spring.

I must say, I was in a boutique at the Montreal airport, and was pleasantly surprised when I came across the beautiful sheared beaver hats. I would've never guessed it was recycled fur, but now I can't wait to acquire one...although not sure how it's possible since I don't live in Montreal...
