March 8, 2010 – At the beginning, it appears that the entrance is through the parking lot, at the back, already nurturing that unique underground feel. Then, after following the seemingly never-ending corridor, it becomes abundantly clear that the club is located in the basement of the Kim Foo Chinese Buffet restaurant. And that the music is far from being top 40. And that the motley crew of a crowd gathered to party seems pretty darn fun. Le Bassment is a club in the spirit of the Cherry, but with less risk to infuriate the neighbours. Established by members of the Lost Tribe and managed by the experienced and able Patrick Dream, you’ll find distinguished DJs who inject enough groove and heat to spark one hot night out. Located in a relatively isolated spot (between Place Bonaventure and the Bell Centre), the name has more to do with just its subterranean bearings; certain nights in particular create a special vibe of clubs of days gone by. Whether it be nostalgia or simply everything coming together, we don’t ask questions and just go with it. Because we love the night.
