March 12, 2010 – Ah March, the month of the Irish, where shamrocks and leprechauns run wild! Well, maybe not all month long, but definitely on the 17th! Become Irish for a day and throw back a mud-black Guiness in celebration of Saint Patrick in one of NIGHTLIFE’s top five Irish pubs.

McKibbin’s Irish Pub
1426, Bishop Street
What? You’ve never been to McKibbin’s? Then you don’t know about the atmosphere: beer, beer, everywhere! Saint Patrick would certainly approve!

McCarold
5400 Côte-des-Neiges Road
Let’s go –a McCombs salad, chased by a good single malt, with sports on the big screen. Of course.

Burgundy Lion
2496 Notre-Dame Street West
Montréal’s old working neighbourhood is where you will find this English pub who knows its stuff when it comes to fish ‘n’ chips. There’s nothing better, especially with a glass of their free-flowing cider!

Hurley’s Irish Pub
1225 Crescent Street
With the choice of over 40 different Scottish and Irish whiskies, need we say more? Give one or two a taste, then onto a pint – or two- while you enjoy some Guiness Beef Stew, a house specialty.

McLean’s Pub
1210 Peel Street
The much-anticipated annual Saint-Patrick’s Day Parade on March 14th leaves from the corner of Fort and Sainte-Catherine Streets and Peel is the place to wind up the festivities: a grand party atmosphere, good beer and enormous burgers drowned in cheddar.
