Constantly in transit between Toronto and Montréal, Éric Longval runs his company in the same manner as his private life. That is to say, he works and lives on his own terms – independently.

An urban epicurean, he can be found on the Plateau or in Old Montréal, balancing work and fun, like his love for classic cuisine and contemporary dining.

Le Petit Conti is the very definition of French bistro, combining top quality and service with a smile. An irreproachable menu means Éric need only pluck anything from list to find happiness from starters through to sweets, while a clean deco and a lively crowd round out an exceptional experience.

Always in and around the Plateau, Éric is a regular at Pizzéria Roméo, the quintessential place to (re)discover simple Italian fare prepared with flair and elegance. Praised for its simple layout and seductive design, the expansive windows frame a beautiful view onto one of the city’s greatest streets.

L’Assommoir ain’t just the title of Émile Zola’s seventh novel. Ask Éric, and he’ll tell you it’s one of the best spots to enjoy the Mile End/ Outremont experience. Dine on delectably inventive tapas and/or sip on one of 250 cocktails served up by your friendly neighbourhood mixologist – these guys are veritable masters in all matters bar-related. Bustling, totally happening, and the happy hour of choice for Montréal’s beautiful people.

Le Club Chasse et Pêche is among the most fabulous dining experiences in the city, and one of Éric’s favourites. The ambiance suggests a sort of retro-futurist take on the hunter’s den, at once traditional and avant-garde. Quality is what it’s all about here, so bring your credit card and surrender yourself to their seasonally fresh menu, and a wine list to rival any other. Cozy in the winter, the warmer months are best enjoyed under the stars on their discreet terrace (open throughout the summer).
