Feasting on gourmet food for charity?

It’s a tough job, but Montrealers are more than happy to do it in this Plateau eatery named after Robin Hood himself. Located on trendy St-Laurent Blvd.—the heart of everything new and hip in the city—Robin des bois has become an instant hit with anyone looking to eat well and do good.

Warm, friendly and unpretentious, the restaurant is almost entirely staffed by volunteers, including local celebrities, captains of industry, neighbourhood artists and whoever else wants to sign up and lend a helping hand.

They’re all under the supervision of chef Sébastien Courville, who scours the city’s markets on a daily basis looking for the finest, freshest and most eco-friendly local ingredients, which he lovingly cooks up for his willing patrons.

And just like the famous scoundrel of Sherwood Forest, Robin des bois is dedicated to giving back to the poor. All profits are donated to local charities that help people in need, whose coffers are now generously fed by satisfied diners with an appetite for great food—and a great cause.
