Published on April 28, 2009 - Craving a little rest and relaxation? Montréal's urban spas offer men head-to-toe pamperings specially designed to de-toxify, de-light and de-stress.

VIP treatment, rejuvenation, relaxation and other soothing balms are all yours at Mann, which offers an invigorating array of for-men-only skin and body treatments.

Located in the heart of the Village, Salon Stéphane Gagnon pampers its male patrons with hair and body care in a luxurious setting. Built over three floors by designer Claude Béland, this fountain of youth, decorated with red leather Italian couches and swanky fringe lamps, also features a chic bar for sipping cocktails.

Thermotherapy is the word at Scandinave Les Bains, a brand-new addition to Old Montréal's go-to spots for the trendy and the well-heeled. Based on the age-old techniques of Scandinavian steam baths and massages, this new property welcomes visitors to relax in its high-end grotto-like setting (think wood, slate and dark limestone). Choose from a wide range of packages, for one or two, like the Baltic, the Icelandic and—long live Leif!—the Viking.

Birthplace of Montréal's first hammam, the Rain Spa offers treatments specifically designed for gents. In addition to a wide range of massages and treatments combining advanced technology and ancient knowledge, this temple of relaxation features "for him" packages replete with Vichy shower massages, body scrubs and purifying facials.

The Spa of l'Hôtel le Saint-James invites guests to go back to where it all started: its brick walls are part of the Montréal fortification erected in the late-1800s. Guests can unwind in its steam bath or escape with the Moroccan getaway—a vital body exfoliation, steam shower and massage—in its unique, history-soaked setting.
