July 2, 2014 — Since spring 2013, Montréal locals and visitors have shared over 40,000 images on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter using the hashtag #MTLMOMENTS. This social media movement has not only been a brilliant online success, but it has also given rise to an exhibition at the ground floor hall of La Vitrine, aka the 2-22 building, on the corner of Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Sainte-Catherine Street.
The #MTLMOMENTS show features some of the best photos posted over the past year. The images have been reproduced on the faces of cubes that are placed in groupings not dissimilar to the building-block, modular construction of one of the city’s most identifiable structures—Habitat 67 by Moshe Safdie.
This exhibition is also a wonderful “thank you” to everyone who contributed to the extent and success of the #MTLMOMENTS initiative.
