October 1, 2014 — All year long, food trucks roam the streets of Montréal, feeding thousands of Montrealers and visitors alike. Street food, which is always of top-notch quality, allows hungry urbanites to get a quick bite while providing a varied culinary experience.
From May to October, food trucks rotate daily on fifteen sites around the city, such as downtown, Old Montréal and Mount Royal Park, among others. The Olympic Park is no exception, since its Esplanade Financière Sun Life hosts an agglomeration of food trucks at regular intervals during the year.
How to find them?
The StreetFood MTL site allows you to find the food trucks based on location and type of food you're craving. You can also follow @StreetFoodMTL on Twitter and Facebook so you'll always be in the loop for great foodie finds.
Although some food trucks are on hiatus in the winter, you can still enjoy quite a few of them which operate in one way or another, either at festivals or special pop up events, at their permanent counters, or simply visit the restaurants these trucks have stemmed from.
There are also of course the original street food spots in Montréal, namely the city's farmers' markets where you can pick some good local food on-the-go all year round. Atwater market and the Jean-Talon market in particular is a foodie mecca with many food offerings.
