September 16, 2013 ─ Rad Hourani established himself firmly in Parisian haute couture circles with the presentation of the first unisex show in fashion history on January 24, 2013. Arguably the most renowned Canadian fashion designer ever, his work is currently available in 130 shops and galleries in 30 countries across the globe. And this coming November 1, 2013, the Phi Centre and Montréal welcome his return to Canada as guest curator for the one-month-long event, Rad Hourani: Seamless or 5 years of unisex creation. The exhibition offers visitors an insider look at the designer’s approach to his asexual, aseasonal, and atypical clothing designs.
Born in Jordan in 1982, Hourani moved to Montréal at the age of 16, where he completed his high school studies. Shortly thereafter, he scouted for a modelling agency and eventually became a stylist. In 2005, he moved to Paris, where he designed his first unisex collection, and, in October 2007, he launched his namesake unisex label at his debut show.
Five years of unisex fashion, 20 collections, human body studies, patterns, and photography are all on the program for this exclusive event that brings you into an androgynous world of artful fashion rife with creative cuts, silhouettes, and styling.
Come celebrate one of Canada’s greats this November at the Phi Centre, pop-up shop included!
