July 2, 2014— From July 8 to 20, the Festival International Nuits d'Afrique offers the most vibrant universal and cultural adventure in the Quartier des spectacles. If exotic, artistic destinations attract you, this event is sure to enchant with its range of music from Africa, the Antilles, South America, and more! From one stage to the next, fascinating creative landscapes of rhythms and songs await you.
From conscious artist Tiken Jah Fakoly, the energetic sponsor of the 2014 edition, to Cuban band Los Van Van, one of the most popular bands in the Caribbean, to Nomadic Massive and Casuarina, Brazil’s top Samba group Nuits d'Afrique multiplies exciting journeys with renowned artists for you to discover. This year, the event will be dedicated to Madiba, the great Nelson Mandela, with tribute concerts featuring South African singer Lorraine Klassen and Malian artist Mamadou Diabaté, among others, and a photo exhibition of South African artists who have graced the festival stage.
In addition to performances, several of which are free and outdoors, Nuits d'Afrique features initiation workshops on dance and music in the morning, the Kids’ Village, typical dishes tastings on the Nuits d'Afrique Terrace, unique encounters at the Agor'Afrique, and the teeming Timbuktu Market.
