March 12, 2013 – As winter’s chill starts to wane, Montréal’s literary scene heats up with the 15th annual Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival. The Blue Met, as most like to call it, is the world’s first multilingual literary festival; last year alone saw over 250 writers, translators, musicians, actors, journalists and publishers from around the world assemble to help 22,000 literary fans celebrate the written word. English, French, Spanish… no matter the language or the genre, with over 200 separate events, there’s plenty of literature in store.

Meet the authors
Guest authors’ books are available for purchase on the festival site or at the official festival bookshop, the Olivieri Bookstore, where authors sign copies of their books following their respective events.

Join a Master Class
Led by internationally recognized writers, these workshops are designed for professionals and emerging writers.

Celebrate diversity
This year’s festival puts a spotlight on guest author Edmund White and other important LGBT writers from around the globe. Through the power of words, workshops, events and online activities, festival-goers can join the literary battle against homophobia.

Reflect on mental health
Rediscover great writers who’ve experienced issues with mental health, and get familiar with books that approach mental illness in creative ways. The “Literature and Mental Health” program at this year’s festival hopes to combat the stigma associated with mental illness through author meet-and-greets, writing workshops and other events.

Come out and meet the literary world in Montréal!
