April 5, 2012 – Montréal’s got some seriously shredding sounds coming to town, August 11 to 12, for followers of the heavy metal music scene. Among those headlining the Heavy MTL fest are Marilyn Manson, Suicidal Tendencies, System of a Down, Lamb of God, Deftones, and Slipknot.
For this fourth edition of the fest (the first of which took place in 2008), the organizers have once again secured some of the most mind-and-guitar-string-blowing acts in the metal kingdom to celebrate all things loud, intense, and heavy. The scene will unfold at the beautiful Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène, so you can rock till you drop in one of the city’s most bucolic settings.
While promising to be loud with massive crowds, this event has ample rules to live by to ensure that everyone parties intensely but safely; just see their site for details. So slap on your skull cross bandana, oil up your eardrums, and get ready to air guitar riff until your fingers fall off at Montréal’s number one heavy metal festival.
