March 2, 2012 – The Quartier des spectacles will be afflicted with some seriously silly symptoms come July 12 to 29, 2012: unstoppable laughter caused by one totally ticklish funny bone! All thanks to a series of non-stops gags, hilarious plays and side-splitting shows that make up the bill for the upcoming 30th edition of the Just For Laughs Festival, where all the big names in comedy from around the world come to play for three wild weekends!
The complete program will be announced in the spring, however, we can say that there will be something new this year: an all-new creation by Jean-Philippe Pearson entitled Post Mortem. This is one bout of clowning around that you won’t want to miss!
Of course, the festival wouldn’t be complete without its famous Parade of Twins (and Triplets, and Quadruplets, and more!), spectacular streetside entertainment and seriously funny artists that headline the popular Urban Art program. And so that’s how Montréal transforms into one grandiose Big Top of comedy each summer, where thousands of artists bring some 2 million festival-goers to tears through laughter during over 2 000 shows, 1 500 of which are outdoors, free and guaranteed to leave you in stitches.
Back again is the oh-so eclectic Zoofest, an incredible springboard for comedic up-and-comers: new faces get their big break during some 70 shows designed to show off their talent in a variety of genres – dance, theatre, improve, comedy and music, all with shades of burlesque! The fourth edition of Zoofest will drive you wild from July 12 to 29, 2012.
