ExperienceMTL: a new festival confirming Montréal’s status as a happening place

June 29, 2012 ─ The Olympic Park is a unique recreational tourism site distinguishing itself through, among other things, its emblematic architecture and its chosen mission to be a gathering place focused on culture, sports, and sustainable development. The park’s rich and varied program, which runs throughout the summer at its esplanade, offers a host of cultural, sporting, food, and environmental activities for people of all ages. Hence, an ideal setting for the newest born Montréal festival, Experience Montréal, a musical event bringing together the best artists from here and elsewhere in an innovative context built around a stage energized by renewable sources.

The Experience Montréal festival includes more than 40 bands and five days of music as well as artistic and educational activities for the whole family: concerts at the School of Rock and the Quebec Skateboard School, a postcard competition, and the Montréal Mini Maker Fair for science, technology, robotics, modern handicrafts, and music.

With a view to being “Montréal’s greenest festival,” Experience Montréal highlights a range of eco-responsible initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint, including the use of solar and micro wind energy, a waste management plan, and strict measures governing food service, product packaging, and fuel consumption. The event serves as proof that colossal fun and environmental protection can go hand in hand.

The first edition of Experience Montréal enlivens the Olympic Park’s esplanade on August 24, 25, 26, and 31, as well as on September 1, 2012. Discover this fresh, musical, cultural, educational, sustainable, and renewable activity! By Métro: Pie-IX or Viau stations.
