February 5, 2014 — Why not hop on a bike, green mode of transportation par excellence, to tour around Montréal?

Montréal is a forerunner when it comes to public bike sharing; as such, it isn’t surprising that Montréalers have turned to BIXI en masse to satisfy their urban transportation needs. Visitors are invited to follow suit and choose BIXI, an incredibly authentic, urban and eco-friendly way to discover the city. Bicycle path maps are available at the Infotourist Centre or on the BIXI website, where you may also download a real-time app that will not only pinpoint the station closest to your location, but will also let you know the number of bikes available.

For longer excursions, Dyad offers electric bicycles and scooters that allow you to visit the city at your own pace, without any worry of pollution. Likewise, Ça roule Montréal offers a wide range of rental bikes and expert advice.

When it comes time to take a break, grab a delicious bite to eat in a bike café. The new Vélo magazine overflows with ideas on how to combine the joy of biking with urban life, and recommends bike-friendly cafés and restaurants, such as ALLO Vélo and the Edgar Café.

In Montréal, everything comes together for a healthy and eco-friendly stay.
