October 3, 2014—These exciting sporting events will have you up and out of your seat!
The cobblestone streets of Old Montréal bustle with classic sights and all-new entertainment this holiday season: each weekend, from December 13 to January 4, Merry Montréal lights up the historic district, inviting everyone to eat, drink, and, of course, be merry.
Igloofest on the Jacques-Cartier Pier
Montréal’s Igloofest is an annual outdoor event where the urban wildlife comes out to play. With headliners featuring the best of the international house music scene and an outlandish one-piece snowsuit competition, this one-of-a-kind festival burns the winter blues away.
MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE
MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE festival is a key annual event that showcases light and conviviality as well as gastronomic and cultural excellence. To wrap it all up, the Montréal All-Nighter is a hoot for night owls: museums, event halls, theatres, restaurants and bars across the island stay open ‘til the wee hours of the morning in a city-wide indoor and outdoor party!
La Fête des neiges outdoor family festival
La Fête des neiges in Parc Jean-Drapeau is Montréal’s annual celebration of family snow fun. The city’s largest outdoor winter festival runs for three consecutive weekends and includes everything you’d expect from a wintry Montréal festival: tubing, skating, zip-lining, snowball fights, zany outdoor entertainment plus a host of other activities to make for a great day out with the kiddies.
Outdoor Ice hockey
From one ice surface to another, the Montréal Pond Hockey Festival will bring together over 50 teams for some ol' time shinny. Celebrate our national pastime and relive some fond, childhood memories on the shores of Lac Saint-Louis in historic Lachine.
At the Olympic Park
The Barbegazi Winter Action Sports Festival takes over the Esplanade Sun Life Financial at the Olympic Park with lumberjack contests, freestyle snowmobile demos, snowboarding, freeskiing and snowskating, all set to a high-octane beat.
So what are you waiting for?
