October 21, 2011 – Dig out your one-piece snowsuit and get ready for your annual caribou fix, ‘cause Igloofest 2012 is on its way! Organized by Piknic Électronik, Igloofestis set on the Jacques-Cartier Pier in the Old Port and is, without a doubt, Montréal’s wildest winter event!
Tens of thousands of party-goers will join together over 3 feral January weekends to revel in the frostiness of the Igloo Kingdom while driven by a burning electronica beat. Featuring the hottest homegrown and international DJs, this hibernal music festival blows the winter blues away with unbelievable music, an out-of-this-world light show and a collective energy so bright it could melt a glacier! Annual favourites like the zany “one-piece” competition and on-site bar featuring refreshments such as caribou – a mix of whisky and maple syrup –, mulled cider and specialty (read: alcoholic) coffees are all on the 6th edition Igloofest docket. So spritz up your one-piece, grab a toque, and strut your stuff on the pier this January!
