December 3, 2013 – Looking to get outside and enjoy some wintertime fun? Then head down to the Old Port of Montréal’s outdoor ice skating rink where you can lace up your skates and go for a spin while enjoying incredible views of historic Old Montréal and the St. Lawrence River.

The fun begins every night at 6 p.m. with a different musical theme and light show: Classical Mondays, World Music Tuesdays, Urban Sounds Wednesdays, Romantic Thursdays (where couples glide along hand-in-hand as much for romance as for balance!), Retro Fridays (80s and 90s), Rhythm Saturdays and French Music Sundays. Or you can channel your inner ice dancer and waltz your way across the ice at Ballroom Matinées on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon.

The rink is an exceptional place to be all winter long, but especially on Saturday nights at 8 p.m. from December 14 to January 4 when TELUS Fire on Ice lights up the night sky. Spectacular fireworks – a different show every time – provide a magical backdrop to shows, dancing and all-around revelry.

Don’t have skates? No problem – you can rent a pair right there.  Don’t know how to skate? Just remember to keep your head up and your arms out. You’ll get the hang of it in no time!
