October 15, 2014 With Christmas in Montréal comes a lineup of exciting family activities that promise hours of joyful entertainment. Here are just some of the events planned this year:

Merry Montreal
After snagging a souvenir bauble, revel in the festivities of Merry Montréal, Old Montréal’s holiday festival. Gaze at the breathtaking fireworks blazing up the sky at Telus Fire on Ice and enjoy the magical activities, street entertainment and wandering carolers.

Who Is the Real Santa Claus?
While visiting the archaeological remains of the city at the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, children encounter four Christmas characters who explain how the holidays are celebrated here and in other parts of the world. Ho! Ho! Ho!

The Nutcracker
A wondrous journey for the whole family to the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets. This Tchaikovsky work has been a holiday classic for the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal at Place des Arts for the last 50 years!

Santa Claus vs. the Snowman 3D
The incredible adventure of a snowman lost in the far north who attempts to capture the spirit of Christmas. In Imax 3D at the Montréal Science Centre. A fantastic, amazing journey.

A Sweet Christmas
The Montréal Botanical Garden celebrates the magic of Christmas with a lushly decked out greenhouse and a sweet treat inspired theme. Plant spirals, giant lollipops, green delights and a giant poinsettia Christmas tree form a feast for the eyes. Inspiring

Railway Christmas
The Canadian Railway Museum in the Montréal suburbs provides for a unique family excursion. A train exhibition, holiday atmosphere, tree decorating, sending a letter to Santa good cheer is everywhere at Exporail!

Window Gazing
Stroll down Sainte-Catherine Street to appreciate Montréal’s fabulous holiday decorations. The Ogilvy window, and the wonderlands of Place Montréal Trust and Complexe Desjardins—Magical!
