June 20, 2011 – Hot on the heels of the success of its first edition, MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE, the International Circus Arts Festival is in the midst of preparing its second instalment, which will take place from July 7 to 24, 2011. Orchestrated once again by TOHU, the event renews its promise to feature a herd of acrobats, clowns, jugglers, and other performers from the four corners of the globe to shock, amuse, and entertain enthusiasts of traditional and contemporary circus.
The second incarnation of MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE will signal the return of the impressive production, TOTEM, from the Cirque du Soleil, which will be the marquee event of the festival. A fascinating commentary on the evolution of mankind and its relationship with other species, TOTEM will offer a slightly modified version of that which was presented last year in the Old Port.
MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE will also highlight several other productions from the best in the world of circus arts at various indoor and outdoor sites around the city. As with last year, the programme will offer circus lovers numerous uplifting and unique happenings that will turn Montréal into the world’s most popular city under the big top during the 18 days of the event.
