August 5, 2014 – Québec’s mindboggling creativity shines at the Montréal Eaton Centre this summer with two inspiring exhibits.
All summer long, the Eaton Centre’s 4th floor features a free exhibition as edgy and brilliant as the curator itself: The Magazine Takes a Stand- Welcome to the Dress to Kill Gallery. A visually stunning display of some 40 gigantic pages from the style bible’s archive, The Magazine Takes a Stand pays homage to local artists from all avenues of creativity – fashion, film, music, visual arts and design – who have contributed in their own special way to shaping DTK’s groundbreaking reputation.
What’s more, the dtkgallery.com website—also available in a mobile version with geo-tagging at each of the exhibit’s stations—provides access to complementary content including photos, exclusive videos, interviews and more.
Likewise, Réflexion by Chris Salter is a large-scale installation that plays with the energy generated between reflection and distortion. Thanks to twenty-two (22), 4 x 4’ half transparent, half mirrored suspended panels, visitors can view their reflection as it gradually undulates, vibrates and transforms. Resolutely hybrid between the physical and the digital, Réflexionenables a complete transformation through electro-magnetic energetic magic.
