March 29, 2010 -- Montréal’s festival circuit lights up every April with the Festival Vues d’Afrique, or the PanAfrica International Festival that celebrates African and Creole cinema. Showcasing the best and brightest films from over forty countries, the festival includes an esteemed film competition – of over 100 screenings -music, world premieres, discussion forums and workshops for all ages.
Now in its 26th edition – and still gaining momentum - this year is of particular importance and interest for the Festival and its participants, considering how the world’s spotlight will shine on South Africa as it hosts the Soccer World Cup for the first time ever on the African continent.
Discover Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and even Canada through provocative and entertaining cinematic productions. From thought-provoking documentaries to children’s animation to features to film shorts, there is something for everyone.
