Published on October 12, 2009 -- It could be a famous international work, but no: Gradimir Pankov’s favourites are simply the very best performances of the Grands Ballets Canadiens over the last ten years, during his tenure as the company’s Artistic Director. Ten years of passion, vision, daring and brimming enthusiasm have been punctuated by dazzling performances, each successively moving, thrilling, captivating and resolutely contemporary. Over the seasons, Montrealers have been privy to spectacular shows, from narratives to abstract to classical ballet, to the talent of dancers from all over the world and to the beauty of direction, costumes and scenery that have established the company’s international reputation.

As the snowflakes start to fly in December, the timeless magic of the beloved Nutcracker returns to the Salle Wilfrid Pelletier, followed by the oriental charm of the Guangzhou Ballet, distinguished guest of the GBCM, in February.  In March, an evening of Kylián – uncontested master of the neo-classic –will delight audiences once again in the Théâtre Maisonneuve.  And finally, none other than the famous Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin presenting his 7-part anthology, Minus One, will close this anniversary season.

Pre-show talks will be held before each performance and will feature dancers, choreographers and musicians.  Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes!
