July 29, 2014 —From August 21 to 25, Montréal’s Omnivore Food Festival will set the table at the “Satosphère” of the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) for a series of promising collaborations between the biggest chefs on the planet and the rising stars of the local culinary scene.
Cooking demonstrations on the menu
The main ingredient of the Omnivore festival is its attractive demonstration component. In the tradition of master classes, guest chefs take the stage and demonstrate original recipes and new techniques to an audience of food lovers, food-industry students, journalists and chefs! In Montréal, 18 demos will be held at the SAT over three days.
Feast and fiesta
Festival organizers have also put together six maudits soupers or “dinners of the damned” (they’re the ones who call it this!) at various restaurants in the city. The formula is simple: the chef of a given restaurant hosts a guest chef, and together they improvise a menu. These collaborations give rise to great culinary experiences.
