Come on, the water’s fine!

Public beaches and pools
Just five minutes from downtown, the Île Notre Dame Beach in Parc Jean-Drapeau is a fav summer hangout for sun worshippers, sand castle architects and waterbugs. Likewise, Île Ste-Hélène’s Aquatic Complex features a variety of pools plus trampolines and water games for kids. While swimming isn’t a part of the Old Port Urban Beach experience, it does offer prime sunbathing, sand and water games with a spectacular view of the city and the river.

Dragon Boat Racing
Each July, Some 200 teams descend upon Parc Jean Drapeau to compete in the Montréal International Dragon Boat Race Festival. Some 50,000 spectators attend to cheer on their team and partake in the many multicultural activities, including martial arts demonstrations, arts and crafts exhibitions and entertainment.
