December 6, 2010 – In 1879, Henry Birks marked the beginning of a new era in fine jewellery by opening an elegant store in his namesake. In 2010, Chef Jérôme Ferrer follows suit with the new Birks Café par Europea, destined to make its mark in gourmet fare.
Located on the mezzanine floor of the legendary Birks store, Birks Café par Europea is yet another jewel in the crown of renowned chef. Jérôme Ferrer has assembled a culinary team worthy of the Birks name, including Executive Pastry Chef Rolland Del Monte, hailed as the Meilleur ouvrier de France, and award-winning Master Chocolate Maker, Christophe Morel. Together, they have created extraordinary menus that are as delicious as they are health conscious: café nutritionist Isabelle Huot makes sure of it!
Enjoy brunch, lunch or afternoon tea in a most elegant and relaxing setting, 7 days a week, from 10 a.m. until the store closes. The day begins with a selection of fine coffee and morning nibbles; Midday is a celebration of art de vivre – or the art of living – with a simplistic and succulent menu that emphasizes fresh, local produce; Afternoon Tea is served as of 2 p.m. and includes a mouth-watering assortment of scones, jam, macaroons, finger sandwiches, and other epicurean treats.
Drop in for a glass of wine and a gourmet snack or to indulge in the Café’s fabulous desserts at any time of day; if you are in a rush, a fine selection of pastries and sweets is available to take home. Just as the Birks name is synonymous with exquisite quality, Birks Café par Europea is synonymous with exquisite taste, in all its facets.
