June 11, 2012 ─ Tourisme Montréal’s For Foodies Package leads you through the city via its celebrated gourmet establishments, which offer a range of mouth-watering menus appropriate for all palates.

DAY 1 – OLD MONTRÉAL
To get your bon vivant bearings in Old Montréal, you can start your day with Flavours and Aromas of Old Montréal, a guided tour of the culinary, cultural, and historical charms of the district. Food boutiques open their doors to share with you their rare delicacies. Later in the afternoon, you might also want to head to the Little Italy district for a Foodie Tour. This neighbourhood boasts renowned restaurants and fine grocery stores, not to mention Jean-Talon Market, the largest open-air market in North America, where tasty samplings are always part of the visitor experience.

If you would prefer to stroll around Old Montréal on your own, don’t miss checking out Canadian Maple Delights, where gelati and pastries are among the many available goodies made from Canadian maple syrup. Sweet!

Also, be sure to go to Chez L’Épicier, which is not only a restaurant offering a creative and refined menu, but also a gourmet grocery store.

Now, move westward, epicureans, to Ateliers & Saveurs, a unique school, open to the general public, offering cooking classes, bartending and cocktail workshops, and wine tasting sessions.

A stay in Montréal is not quite complete without a visit to Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History, a national historic site rising above the actual remains of Montréal's birthplace.

To top off your day, have supper at Restaurant Carte Blanche, an elegant and comfortable venue just a few minutes away from Old Montréal. Carte Blanche Chef André Loiseau received the 2010 Regional Chef Award.

DAY 2 – PLATEAU MONT-ROYAL
Begin the day by strolling to St-Viateur Bagel & Café, a family-run Montréal business that has been making oven-baked bagels since 1957. As soon as you walk into the establishment, you will be treated to the aroma of coffee and warm bagels.

After breakfast, take some time to wander about the neighbourhood and appreciate the stylish yet laid-back charm of the area. You won’t regret it.

Back on the food track, a must-do is to grab a bite at another Montréal institution, Schwartz’s, which opened on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in 1928 and has since offered guests great smoked meat sandwiches.

For seafood lovers, Maestro S.V.P. offers an array of dishes, an oyster bar, jazz music, and a warm, inviting décor.

DAY 3 – DOWNTOWN

Located on McGill College Avenue, Le Commensal boasts appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and wine for the delectation of vegetarians.

For an authentic Indian restaurant in the heart of this cosmopolitan city, the sophisticated and welcoming Restaurant Devi diverges into new and exotic regional fare with dishes that you won’t find in most Indian dining establishments in Montréal.

If you would like to try some inventive cuisine served in the charm of a Victorian mansion, proceed to Restaurant Europea, a 4-Diamond CAA/AAA establishment which was voted 2010 restaurant of the year by the Guide Debeur.

Finally, for a Parisian-inspired experience, Restaurant Julien  is renowned not only for the exceptional quality of its meals, but also for its courteous, attentive staff. Traditional French dishes are served in a wonderful, bistro-style atmosphere.
