April 5, 2010 – Montréal’s got some seriously shredding music coming to town this July for followers of the metalsphere. Headlining the Heavy MTL fest will be the granddaddy of the heavy M scene, Mr. Alice Cooper himself, as well as Megadeth, Korn, Anvil, Lamb of God, Five Finger Death and a great big motley crew of other guitar-rippin’, fist punchin’, hardcore metal fans.

For this second edition of the fest (the first of which took place in 2008), the organizers have not only secured some of the most mind-and-guitar-string-blowing acts in the metal kingdom, but they’ll also be staging it on the same great location of two years prior. The scene will unfold at the beautiful Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène, so you can rock til you drop in one of the city’s most bucolic settings.

It promises to be loud with massive crowds, but this fest has ample rules to live by to ensure that everyone parties intensely but safely; just see their site for details. Slap on your skullcross bandana, oil up your eardrums and get ready to air guitar riff until your fingers fall off at Montréal’s number one heavy metal festival.
