June9, 2014 — Metallica, Slayer, Bad Religion, The Offspring, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Twisted Sister are just a handful of the headliners at this year’s Heavy Montréal festival, running from August 8 to 10. Formerly known as Heavy MTL (with MTL serving as an abbreviation both for Montréal and metal), Heavy Montréal is an exciting evolution of the festival, which offers an even broader range of musical styles in its programming.
Shows start on August 8 at various venues across the city, and on August 9 and 10, the action takes place at the idyllic site of Parc Jean-Drapeau. Since its first edition in 2008, the festival has welcomed close to 200,000 fans, all attracted to music from world-class artists performing against the backdrop of Montréal’s one-of-a-kind summertime atmosphere.
So if it’s rock, punk, or metal you’re into, Heavy Montréal is the kind of hot and heavy rendezvous you’re sure to enjoy.
