May 9, 2011 – While practically a household word among electronic-music aficionados, you couldn’t blame yourself if you thought MUTEK was some kind of technoid mutant about to devour Montréal – like Godzilla attacking New York City. Come to think of it, that may not be too far from the truth!

An explosion of digital, sound, musical and visual creativity, over the years MUTEK has become THE festival par excellence where electronic music really lets loose, just like the crowds that throng it.

With featured players Plastikman, Amon Tobin, Modeselektor, Four Tet, Deepchord presents Echospace and Murcof, the festival’s 12th edition promises to be five days of absolute electro-craziness. Kings of house, dub techno maestros, tech-house prodigies and industrial dubstep experts, the most illustrious artists in the underground electronic scene are all coming to our city from June 1 to 5 to perform on five stages scattered about downtown and, of course, at Parc Jean-Drapeau, the island that hosts the biggest outdoor electronic-music event of the summer. With all the surprises the program holds in store – such as 8 world premieres, 10 North American premieres and 9 Canadian premieres, for example – no way you’ll want to miss this!
