June 28, 2010 – Do you remember Woolco Wednesdays or $2.75 night at La Track? Greg Thibault remembers, just as he remembers Pump Sundays because he worked for 15 years at this now defunct bar in the Village before opening the Parking. But it is in the very space where these evenings all began that he decided to create DK‑Dance in order to bring them back!
The DK-Dance bar features a dance floor with a ceiling over five metres high and a resident DJ who spins pop, dance and house music over three floors. This old, abandoned disco has been completely transformed into a hip and modern dance club styled specifically to please the gents, as this is, after all, a club for men.
Two other testosterone-charged theme nights are already in the works: Bear Fridays and Leather, Latex, Uniform Saturdays where everyone – except women, leather or not – are welcome. As for cocktails, the DK 5 à 7 on their Sainte‑ Catherine Street terrace is a complete K-O when it comes to hot, hip and inviting.
Woolco Wednesdays… now that’s a blast from the past!
