Five Montréal enterprises earn gold and silver awards at the national gala

Montréal, May 25th,  2009 – Five regional Grands Prix du tourisme québécois laureates merited top honours at the national gala held on May 15th at the Centre des congrès de Québec. Nicole Ménard, Québec Minister of Tourism, proudly presented national level gold and silver awards to five Montréal enterprises that were previously recognized at the regional ceremony held on March 24th.

GOLD: Montréal Botanical Garden for The Magic of Lanterns

Festivals and Tourist Events, Operating budget under $1 M
GOLD: Mutek, International Festival of Digital Creativity and Electronic Music 

Travel and Transport
GOLD: Authentik Canada

Accommodations – 1-, 2- and 3-star Establishments
SILVER: Auberge Le Pomerol

The Granby Zoo, also a member of Tourisme Montréal, garnered a silver award for the Eastern Townships region in the category Tourist Attractions, 100 000 visitors and more.

Every year since 1985, the Grands Prix du tourisme québécois have been awarded to individuals and businesses in the tourism industry in recognition of innovation and excellence in their products and services.

The regional winners automatically advance to the provincial round of this prestigious competition which economic spin-offs are appreciable for both recipients and the city.
