Montréal, 26 October 2009 – Tourisme Montréal took bronze level honours at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) gala in the Best Print Advertising Campaign category for the organization’s ‘When we say host city, we mean it!’ print campaign.
The ceremony, which took place on October 16th at Park Plaza Riverbank in London, was organized by Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine. Honours were bestowed upon 36 laureates in 12 categories.
Tourisme Montréal was the only North American organization to win a prestigious MIMA award in recognition of service excellence within the industry. The primary aim of Tourisme Montréal’s award-winning print campaign was to enhance destination notoriety through the targeting of international and US associations involved in the organization of business conventions.
Justifiably proud of Tourisme Montréal’s win, Charles Lapointe, President and Chief Executive Officer, pointed up that the award underscored and enhanced Montréal's reputation as a leading destination for international conventions and business tourism which together generate in excess of $2 billion in annual revenues for our fair city.
