Montréal, May 18, 2010 – As of June 2, the 11th edition of MUTEK will once again drive the city to its own thrilling beat. A highly-anticipated event by electronic audiophiles the world over, the festival features original and daring programming that is nothing less than exhilarating. For five incredible days, the greatest names in the global electronic arts community as well as international up-and-comers will electrify the crowd with mind-blowing digital, audio and visual creations.

“Renowned for its innovation and cultural effervescence, Montréal demonstrates once again that it is at the height of its reputation as destination in constant motion, ever the vanguard of new trends,” underlines the Honourable Charles Lapointe, President and CEO of Tourisme Montréal. “This year, MUTEK will unfold its festive menu in the heart of the city as well as on Île Sainte-Hélène for the enjoyment of the ever-growing number of festival-goers to this event.

We are extremely proud of this festival that generates significant economic returns for our tourist industry, all the while advancing Montréal’s status throughout the world as a resolutely modern and open-minded city,” concludes Charles Lapointe.

The 2010 edition of this international festival continues its dedication to promoting new electronic music and digital audio-visual performances. It will be held in three principal Montréal venues – the Monument-National, the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) and the Métropolis – as well as the magnificent Parc Jean-Drapeau.

As always, MUTEK is committed to promoting new talent in addition to presenting a considerable number of established, internationally-renowned artists in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that is ideal to meet and exchange ideas with artists, professionals and the public at large.
