March 10, 2016 Celebrating its 17th anniversary this year, and recognized as a unique event within the multidisciplinary field of cutting-edge contemporary digital creation, electronic music, new media, and culture, Montréal's electronic music and digital creativity institution, MUTEK, will run from Wednesday June 1 to Sunday June 5, and showcase more than 100 Canadian and international artists.

Events and performances are at a variety of venues in the Quartier des spectacles, including the MAC, the Esplanade de la Place des Arts, and Métropolis, as well as the Phi Centre in Old Montréal and Parc Jean-Drapeau, where the Piknic Électronik dance party brings music lovers together on an open-air dance floor with absolutely awesome views of the city and its surroundings.

Over the years, the MUTEK festival has presented a considerable number of renowned artists while simultaneously providing an important showcase for up-and-coming talent. Each edition offers a notable array of Canadian, North American, and even international premieres. The festival provides an open, inviting environment that encourages rewarding exchanges between artists, professionals, and the public; MUTEK is a point of convergence, drawing participants from all over the world to profit from a context of active discovery. Many of the festival’s participants have gained concrete and positive opportunities from their involvement with MUTEK.
