V as in… V-10 engines, vroom, velocity, virtuosity and, of course, victory. Sound familiar? Well, these words are music to the ears of some 330,000 spectators who descend on the city each year for the F1 Grand Prix of Canada.

For three days straight, Montréal flies these elite racing team colours, reverberating with the roar of fans—from near and far—who come to cheer on the world’s best drivers. Racing greats will be in town for this thrilling competition, which crowns not only the drivers but the professional teams who put their technical and physical finesse to the test for a top podium spot at the Gilles-Villeneuve Circuit.

Celebrating spills out into city streets, as it has since 1978, the year the F1 Grand Prix of Canada officially adopted Montréal as the site of its circuit.
